Paste in the context menu of gcalctool generally works for me in Feisty.
But, more to the point: the suggestion has been rejected upstream and we
do not plan to change it to differ from their version, causing more
future maintenance. Closing.

No it's not. This is code in Gtk+ that always makes the Paste
menu item insensitive if the text area is read-only.

Hi. I've read the response of the developer. I think that the problem is
not that. He don't wont the user able to randomly edit the text area,
and this is ok, but I can paste anything via edit->paste, and for
anything I mean really anything, even phrases. I can use edit-> paste or
ctrl-v, or middle
