I just retested this today with up-to-date kernel and now seems to work.

I am unable to get the computer to wake up from suspend using a USB
device. I have turned legacy USB devices suspend support in the BIOS
off, plug & play OS: on, suspend state: s3 only.
In ubuntu I have done the following:

I may have been wrong about the mouse losing power when the system
enters standby. On windows xp the mouse light turns off when it goes
into s3 but I am able to wake up the system by clicking the mouse button
so clearly the mouse light is no indication of power loss.
