Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and help to improve Ubuntu. The log shows a failure in the debconf gtk frontend rather than in libpam-runtime itself, as quoted below. Reassigning to the debconf package. Setting up libpam-runtime (1.1.1-2ubuntu5) ... *** glibc detected ***
