Hi!
$ LANG=C apt-cache policy gnome-session
gnome-session:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 2.30.0-0ubuntu1
Version table:

$ LANG=C apt-cache policy gnome-session-bin
gnome-session-bin:
Installed: 2.30.
We should also ask the reporter to give us the results of
apt-cache policy gnome-session-bin
apt-cache policy gnome-session
so we can verify whether or not either package is installed. I do find
on my Xubuntu 10.04 that "gnome-session-bin" is installed by default.
