there has been a lot of coding/testing with these Intel-chipsets for
E6510.
In this (very long) threads:

have a HD screen working. With a Natty nightly and the
facing exactly the same problem with
Linux js 2.6.37 #9 SMP Thu Jan 13 21:39:59 IST 2011 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7
CPU M 620 @ 2.67GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
(This is a PAE enabled kernel.)
on my Dell Latitude E6510.

Same problem. I can usually suspend a few times without incident, but
it's never made it more than 3 times.
The lights and hard drive come back to life, but the screen remains
blank. Hitting the fn-key combos to change the brightness or to switch
between lcd/monitor/both do not affect it.
