Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner .There have been many changes in ubuntu since
that time you reported the bug and your problem
Is it possible that this is a duplicate of #550625. Do you have an Alps
touchpad that is detected as a PS2 or Macintosh mouse? There appears to
be no fix for that issue yet, but many folks are affected and there is
work ongoing to come up with a fix.

mikelococo, you're quite right. This bug seems to be a duplicate of
#550625, though the Alps model may be different. I'll sign as affected
there and hope the bug is fixed soon. Thanks.
