Jeroen, I don't know what problem you are referring to but version
1.9-1.1 in all versions of Ubuntu carry doom1.wad (lowercase) and
version 1.9.fixed-2 in Debian also carry doom1.wad (lowercase). Your
problem is something else and not related to this bug.

I fixed it by removing the old version and getting the new version from
here: http://www.securehost.com/mirror/debian/pool/contrib/c/chocolate-
doom/

ps: sudo cp ~/Downloads/DOOM1.WAD /usr/share/games/doom/doom1.wad ,
because DOOM1.WAD is uppercase

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid), and I downloaded "chocolate-doom" for
the Synaptic Package Manager, letting it include its dependencies of
course. I received the error above, and the solution I found was:
1. Download the 1.9 DOOM1.WAD file from here:
http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/DOOM1.WAD
2. Ru
