Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-7-generic

Since upgrading from dapper to edgy (and consequently losing ir-kbd-gpio), the 
computer is completely unable to recognize and/or use Winfast 2000XP RM (bttv 
compliant) infrared remote port.
Tried everything, but nothing works.

I am loading btaudio now for testing purposes, but it doesn't work

and "sudo cat /dev/input/event1" gives nothing upon remote using.
nor does "sudo irrecord -H dev/input -d /dev/input/event1 test.conf"
