Public bug reported: Hi,
first of all, thanks for all the hard work put in Ubuntu! >From 1.3.3 SFTP support is in the core source tree, and it seems the Debian unstable package was updated to include 1.3.3 with the required modules. https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/debian/experimental/proftpd- dfsg/experimental As ftp is insecure and tls/ssl clients are rare, mod_sftp is a painless way to upgrade a proftpd installation to meet the security level required in the wild. With virtual hosting, it is possible by mod_sftp to operate a fully virtual user table in ldap/sql and enable sftp without messing libnss or pam. As 10.04 is a long term support system, it would be very nice to have sftp in it. I searched for ppa-s providing something to test, but the closest one https://launchpad.net/~chris-vigelius/+archive/chrisv/+packages has 1.3.2 only. ** Affects: proftpd-dfsg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [ Lucid 10.04 ] proftpd missing sftp support https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/610467 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
