The Amilo now belongs to my grand-daughter. Interesingly I have since
installed Linux Mint 9 with no problem, and then added the Qimo desktop and
suitable Edubuntu packages.

Will it boot using the Desktop/Live CD ? If so, perhaps we could get the
logs from the live cd environment. if not, can you attach the above
lspci information (even from 9.10) for the developers to see what is
different in your hardware that might be causing this issue? Thanks in
advance

Thanks for your response. However, I am unable to complete any of your
suggestions as the Amilo is unbootable using Ubuntu 10.4.
It will boot using 9.10.
