Adriaan, thanks for trying out 10.04. Can you please run the
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/AlsaInfo instead of apport-collect (from
10.04), that might work better if you're having trouble with apport-
collect?

This problem also occured with a 10.04 release, run from CD. I did not
fully install yet, because the moment my Ubuntu works, I'll wipe 'that
other OS' from my laptop and start afresh with an Ubuntu only laptop.

I've given Launchpad "change anything" privileges, but it seems not to
recognize that, and gives me an Error 500 message: Internal Server Error,
You have to allow 'change anything' privileges.

apport-collect 611027
Apport-collect collects more information from the system that runs it
and uploads them here, so the number must match the number of this bug
(which is 611027). To avoid confusion, apport-collect only allows the
