I can duplicate this as well, both in Edgy and Feisty, with the default
themes, running in Parallels on an x86 Mac.

I have seen this exact issue in Edgy, as well, but it occurred when
using the default theme.
I installed Edgy on a system with an i815 onboard graphics chips. X was
set to a 24-bit display by default and the above issue was noted. After
reducing to a 16bit display the issue resolved itself.
