Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. In an effort to keep an up-to-date list of bugs to work I
have reviewed this report to verify it still requires a fix and it
occurs on a supported version of Ubuntu.

So, a quick test:
On 12.04 alpha "apt-get install cacti" worked fine and installed the many
dependencies. Next, the GUI install on http://myhost/cacti/install/ also
worked fine. Adding a few graphs for localhost worked perfectly too.

Thanks for the heads up. Well it makes cacti unusable for many users.
What would be important is to check that the upcomng 12.04 has a workng
package, since its an LTS.
Are you aware of tests there? If not i ncan do some tests in a few days.

Sean, this seems to be fixed in newer releases of cacti. So I am closing
the main bug task as Fix Released.
For lucid, this isn't quite a critical bug, so I don't think it warrants
an SRU. It seems like a simple solution might be to backport one of the
newer cacti packages to lucid.
** Changed in
FYI I just ran an apt-get update || apt-get upgrade on the 10.04 system I use
for cacti and new cacti packages were added, presumably there were security
updates.
Anyway, the update broke cacti and I had to re-apply the fixes at

Same here. I tried turning off "deprecated" errors in php.ini but it is
still there.
Turning off "Display errors" in php.ini made the errors go away. I like
to have those on for development, though.
