Further found this bug in elementary-theme. So this is probably no bug
in those themes itself, but in an superior level of gnome/gtk. Maybe the
theme engines cause it.

Same problem here. Slowdowns appear both in systems menus and
applications menus when highlight/unhightlight

Here I was moving the cursor up.
The move was fast but not unusually fast (anyway, it works with other themes).
