No fix required, user needed to install mail-notification-evolution.
Considering the discussion, packaging suggestions are welcome!

Mail-notification cannot communicate
This is probably just because people like me did not install the
-evolution package... Why are they separate?
I've seperated evolution support so that the mail-notification package
would not force users to install evolution if they're not using it.

Perhaps the dependency should be the other way around -- have the
Evolution package depend on mail-notification and mail-notification-
evolution?
Ideally, the packaging system would allow the dependency constraint
Evolution mail-notification -- mail-notification-evolution
Sadly I'm not
I installed mail-notification-evolution, and now it works for me (after
having restarted evolution).
