Pavel,
Thanks for the feedback. I changed the bug status to "Fix Released" and
it will be closed when version 1.2 will be available in the distribution
(probably not before next Ubuntu)

Indeed I am :)
I believe this problem to be fixed in the upstream code base but it is not
available in any official release yet. When I make a new release it will be
available in my PPA until the official Ubuntu package gets updated.

Hi Pavel,
There have been some patches applied to the TLE updater in Gpredict
since the 1.1 release and some of them were indeed related to crashes
when updating from local files. It could be one of those you encounter.

The celestrak file has the same format than the ARRL TLE.
Has anyone reproduced the crash or is only me?

Hi,
What do you mean with "ARRL TLE format", is that the verbose format?
Gpredict requires the NASA 2-line format as distributed by Celestrak, see e.g.

Crash persist only on local files updates with the ARRL TLE format.
Working fine with a network update on a more fast connection (1.5Mbps so
much fast than my 33kbps)
Still working arround to find cause/solution.
