I think, the closest 5 Tasks is the best solution, because a task,
which has to be done in eg. 2 days is more important than a task which 6
days left, no matter if something was edited or not.
btw, a Gnome Shell-fitting design would be cool too. (perhaps with an
expand feature to show all tasks)

I'm going to rewrite notification plugin for GTG (which provides
indicator feature). I would like to discuss here possibilities and the
most suitable solution.
In my opinion, indicator menu should not show every possible task. When
you have more that 10 tasks, it become really confusing for me. I
