There is an interesting error in /var/log/installer/syslog
/lib/partman/recipes.sh: line 31: local: `-': not a valid identifier
and /lib/partman/recipes.sh does indeed have a line 31:
local ignore ram line word min factor max fs -
which looks odd to me. Can '-' be used this way in shell sc
According to the logs, /dev/hdb1 is a bit under 2 GB which explains why
the install failed. Since you chose to automatically partition, this
shouldn't be happening. I'm temporarily unmarking this as a dupe to make
sure it doesn't get lost ( if it turns out to be an original problem)

Not sure if this is how I should reply, but here is my comment:
I don't see how this is a dupe of 48355. My hard drive is 30 gigs and
all it had on it was Edgy, when I selected the option to reformat the
entire disk. How can it be out of space?
