Binary package hint: usplash
In edgy knot 3, and on dapper with backported usplash 0.4, the shutdown
and reboot procedures do not cause the usplash to show proper progress
of the requested operation.
Instead, a blank screen is seen, and one may only get a glimpse of the
usplash towards the end of the procedure.
