Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox
I am running Ubuntu 10.04, up to date, 32 bits. I tried to open a huge (10.000 x 1.200 pixels approx) Wikipedia image, and everything crashed. Nor Firefox, Gnome or anything else responded from there. Not even ctrl+alt+del, ctrl+alt+backspace, alt+F2, etc. Only the mouse moves, but rather slowly. This is the image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...%C3%A9rale.jpg Can you confirm if the same happens to you? A friend of mine also confirmed the issue. I could replicate the problem with Xfce on the same system. I could not replicate the problem with: -Chromium on the same system -the same Firefox (3.6.8) under Windows -a friend's system with Mandriva (KDE) and the same Firefox (3.6.8).
