Ok, here is my dmesg.
In fact, I think I have the same problem as here : #57716
I'll try to add the following to my xorg.conf as advised and see if it works:
Section "ServerFlags"
Option "AIGLX" "off"
EndSection
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "0"
EndSection

I believe I've got the same problem.
fglrx is loaded, but there is no dri.
Turning off AIGLX works.

I had a "customer" on irc.freenode.net #ubuntu-xgl with the same
problem, he did not have any modules in
/lib/modules/2.6.17-10-generic/kernel/drivers/char/agp/ on an edgy amd64
machine. I mean he had some, but not the amd64 agpgart module.

That's because it is compiled into the kernel.
Support should exist.

Well that's fine, but as you can see, Xorg can't see the support
somehow. I wonder if there is any difference if it is as a module or
compiled in, there shouldn't be. Maye the agp support is broken in the
kernel?

Sorry. I'm in 32bits with AMD64, but the problem is same.

I'm using AMD 64 in Ubuntu Edgy Eft Knot 3 32 bits version here and
getting sort of the same problem.
The diference is that I'm trying to use the open source drivers.

I'm using Ubuntu EGDY (up to date) in 32Bits and I have exactly the same
problem. Hence, Graphic performance is worse than with Free ati
drivers...
