Just tried with daily-live CD hardy and the problem did not occur with my
computer.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the
development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could
test with it so we can work
Just wondering whether any of you have the same problem with the latest
Ubuntu rleease, Ubuntu Gutsy?

I have exactly the same bug on installing Ubuntu Feisty Herd 2 Live CD.
I get the same output in casper.log. The parameter acpi=off doesn't
work for me.

downloaded the official release version and the same happens
B ut I have just found out that by booting the live cd with acpi=off the
problem does not occur.

The mount fails, but how to debug this.
In 5.10 it mount the cdrom as /dev/cdroms/cdrom0

and provide the output.
you should be able to connect and mount USB devices just fine at this
stage.
