It seems this is no longer an issue, if it is, feel free to reopen this
(but to me, it seems that it is how resolvconf is supposed to work, is
not it?)

I was able to fix this issue by removing resolver completely and then
reinstalling. So simply updating does not help.
Prior to removing:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -l /etc/resolvconf
...
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 2006-09-08 17:01 run -> /dev/shm/resolv
