Done a little more looking into this. Screen blanks by power management (ie, lid open, no key/mouse input for five minutes) don't cause lock to activate. Suspend-->Resume (ie, close laptop lid, wait, re-open) does cause screen to lock. Sorry, should have made more sure before reporting stuff. --
