In reply to your questions: My current BIOS does not support LBA and checking
with Hewlett Packard there is NOT an upgrade. I did not get an error that you
described. For the present I will used my 80 GB Hard Drive.

Does the BIOS in the current system support that large of a drive? Grub
Error 18 is usually due to the drive being larger than the BIOS
supports. A couple of options would be to update the BIOS and see if
that helps. I know on my system, I am using the larger drives with PCI
Controller cards, as
