Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: simple-scan

Ubuntu 10.10 beta

st...@steve-desktop:~$ apt-cache policy simple-scan
simple-scan:
  Installed: 2.31.91-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.31.91-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.31.91-1ubuntu1 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Simple-scan appears to detect my scanner properly (Epson Perfection 640
USB scanner) but when I try to start a scan it pops up an error box
saying "Failed to scan, unable to start scan". When running from command
line, it prints this error message:

st...@steve-desktop:~$ simple-scan

** (simple-scan:2477): WARNING **: Unable to start device: Invalid
argument

** Affects: simple-scan (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
