You didn't installed for libunity as well. The packages to install are: libunity0-dbgsym You're right about mutter, last debug generation failed. Just installing libunity0-dbgsym should be enough for the interesting part and run the backtrace again! -- Mutter restarts when applications button in

hum that's a new crash then. We miss debug symbols to be able to handle it properly, can you please install them (as described at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash) for all mutter and unity packages, please ? (unity-place-applications too) and getting a backtrace again? Thanks a lot
