I recently upgraded my laptop running Edgy Knot 3 to the Beta release.
When, I restarted, my system just hangs there. I can't even get a
console with Alt-Ctrl-F1.

So, I decided to do a fresh install. Same problem again.

Although, I can start GNOME manually if I boot in single-user mode:
$ /etc/init.d/dbus start
$ gdm
