Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

The Huawei E1552 is not recognized any more on maverick. It was
recognized perfectly under Karmic (9.10), problems under Lucid (10.04)
in combination with other modems (see Bug #627883) and now does not work
at all. - Situation with mobile internet sticks getting continously
worse although those mobile USB modems get more and more used.

Installation of usb-modeswitch does not help any more (see also Bug
#561051).
