I have Ubuntu Precise 12.04, with udisks 1.0.4-5ubuntu2.1. This version contains the patch that sets mount option 'dmode=0500' for UDF discs. However this patch does not work for DVD-RW that are not finalized (However I don't know if finalization makes a difference). Not finalizing DVD-RW is
