Dell Inspiron 1525, Kubuntu 10.04. Enabling/disabling works, touchpad
buttons work, but moving the cursor via the touchpad doesn't. Tried
kubuntu systemsettings, gsynaptics and gpointing-device-settings. The
first two didn't do anything, the latter at least could switch the
device on/of.

can I ask you -- (because I still have the laptop (dell wants to pick it up
wednesday)) -- is it fixed now??? you mean I can re-install ubuntu and it will
be ok?

I've readed the posts on the forum and it seems not fixed.
Tried kubuntu systemsettings, gsynaptics and gpointing-device-settings.
