I see the problem, I downgraded to 10.04 and noticed that the "Play text
was there"

reading GTK+ API docs about the "is-important" Action/ToolItem property

Well, I would have to say this is a unique problem to you none-the-less,
as my player has a rather large play button, and when moused over, I get
text. I'm running x86 though, not x86_64.

I'm not saying the button is not there, rather its text label is no
longer there, i.e., it is an icon only.
