Since upgraded to ubuntu 10.04 LTS, and each time after installing
updates, the Update Manager will not work, and action Place/Desktop will
not show anything. I have to run the following command at the root to
get all back to normal
kittym...@ktym:/usr/local/lib$ sudo mv libstdc++.so.6
libstdc++.so.6.orig
