Otto: this seems to be a kernel bug as it is fixed by a patch to the
kernel. Also this bug does not depend on using xrandr. So it's probably
not a dupe of bug #492782.

I pulled in kernel 2.6.35-34 because it was a security update. However,
this bug still isn't fixed there.
This bug has a working simple patch from upstream that fixes it. It does
affect several people and as a very annoying effect.

This kernel brought my mouse cursor back... mby just pure luck and nothing else
seem broken except some errors in bootup... :)
