Nor did I that time. That's why I reported the bug: only have 2 speakers
and I didn't hear some speech at all. Can't confirm it right now on
feisty since I don't have files with 5.1 audio ATM.

The last tests were on edgy, but I had dapper on the laptop 2 months ago and it
was the same.
totem-gstreamer with all the -ffmpeg, -bad, -ugly, -multiverse etc plugins
installed, maybe that helps.
