That is indeed correct. It should be a 16 MB Banshee (bought in 1999).
I did install from the alternate CD.

Could you also tell us what sort of graphics card you have? It's
recognized as a 3dfx Voodoo Banshee. Is that correct?
I'm assuming this was a fresh install. Did you install from the LiveCD,
or the alternate? If you used the LiveCD, did everything work right
during the install?
