Public bug reported:

Since I upgraded to edgy, wireless assitant does not connect to any
ESSID. I choose a network and it says "connection failed". Then I go to
the command line and do "sudo ifup wlan0" and the connection comes up.

Note that I have to to through wireless assistant to choose a network
before I do "sudo ifup wlan0". If I don't, wlan0 is not associated with
a network and does not find a dhcp server.

** Affects: wlassistant (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
