Yes, I am using Gnome, and the Recent Files menu works. But I don't
think that uses Zeitgeist.

Can you please run the following command:

It looks like your database file got corrupted somehow. Remove the file
~/.local/share/zeitgeist/activity.sqlite and Zeitgeist work again.
