application items will not be shown by default unless the "Show N
Technical Items" like is clicked. We have recently fixed a bug where
this link does not look "clickable" in Precise, so this problem will
hopefully be further miti
The root cause is that applications with .desktop files in
/usr/share/applications are treated as packages. They will show up when
clicking on "Show all technical items" link.
