In my Acer 4730z, the rt2800pci modules causes the wifi to never connect
to any AP.
Here is the relevant lspci -vv output:

Confirmed also on MSI U230, it's only possible to establish good quality link
connection in a near Access Point area, say 2-4 meters. Anywhere outside this
area I get asked about the password configuration, and this happens despite the
WiFi status icon indicating 100% link quality.
