The first stable release of GNOME Shell is available in Ubuntu 11.10
which I recommend you try. The code has changed significantly since the
preview release available in Ubuntu 10.10 so it's very unlikely that any
one is interested in trying to fix these old bugs.
I am not able to duplicate this
Abner, your problem looks like bug 838577 if you are using the AMD/ATI
fglrx graphics drivers.
