Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity
During setup i was asked to write the location where i live, i wrote down "Samos" and choose "Samos island" from the list (3rd choice), all went smooth during the installation, but i noticed the update servers where set to Turkey. Geographically Samos is closer to turkey than Athens but this means that i got 1/4 of the download speed. Default update servers for Aegean islands should be set to Greek update servers ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: software-center 3.0.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.33-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Oct 5 18:42:00 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release Candidate amd64 (20100928) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: software-center ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- Wrong update server based on location https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/655206 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
