I forgot to say in the tittle that this occurs on Xubuntu, not Ubuntu.
New point (see the screenshot). The trashcan is not updated on the
Desktop but is OK in the file manager. Look at the icons, they are
different???!!

Even worse today w/ the latest update:
I drag and drop a folder from /home/gerard (it's me!!) to the trash, and all
the icons of the Desktop disappear (including the trash).
To get them back, I need to logout/login again

trash? How do you delete them? From nautilus? With the keyboard or a
menu item?
