Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rsyslog
There is a file called /etc/rsyslog that contains the following line: RSYSLOGD_OPTIONS="-c4" Unfortunately, changing that line has no effect, as /etc/init/rsyslog.conf just has this: exec rsyslogd -c8 Either /etc/default/rsyslog should be deleted (not nice), or rsyslog.conf should use the contents of /etc/default/rsyslog (preferable). bla...@wglaptop98: ~ $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Release: 10.04 bla...@wglaptop98: ~ $ apt-cache policy rsyslog rsyslog: Installed: 4.2.0-2ubuntu8 Candidate: 4.2.0-2ubuntu8 Version table: *** 4.2.0-2ubuntu8 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: rsyslog 4.2.0-2ubuntu8 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-24.42-generic 2.6.32.15+drm33.5 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Oct 6 12:51:26 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20100429) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: rsyslog ** Affects: rsyslog (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug lucid -- rsyslog upstart script does not use content of /etc/default/rsyslog https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/655942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
