I think this should be reported upstream, and not here. zenity
--notification will only display the notification icon in the status
area, not pop up the text passed by --text.

I am running the development version of Feisty with all the latest
updates and as far as I can see the bug is still present. Although, I
can manage to get it to work in one particular case whereas it never
worked in Edgy. As I understand it, the following command should make
the libnotify message b
I am going to set this bug to Fix Released, since it looks to be working
for me on Feisty.

Reproducible here too, since forever. IIRC I tried to get notifications
already under Breezy, but reverted to using regular dialog boxes
instead. Now on Edgy I get the alert sign (triangular European "!"
traffic sign) and the exact same three assert messages, but no actual
message.

This screenshot illustrates how zenity is supposed to work. When it is
started with the notification display option, zenity should be able to
make a libnotify message bubble appear.
