I have the same problem in Natty. Pressing Ctrl+H or using the menu has no result (except the check sign toggling next to the menu item). Offline contacts remain in view no matter the setting. I did not have this problem in Maverick. -- You received this bug notification because you are a

I can hide the offline contacts from the menu or with ctrl+h. However, the setting doesn't save when I exit. This is a big enough annoyance to make me switch back to pidgin. I have verified that libdconf0 is installed. -- Cannot hide offline contacts from view.

I'm using version: 2.32.0.1-1+ppa10.10+1 and have the same problem: I can't hide offline contacts after today's dist-upgrade. And yes I tried pressing Ctrl-h or using the view menu. I can tick and untick the Offline contacts menu entry but nothing changes, every contact I have, no protocol

thanks for the bug report. you can hide offline contacts by pressing ctrl+h or in the 'View' menu there is an option too. if the setting does not save when you start empathy again can you please check if libdconf is installed you can check that by typing apt-cache policy libdconf0 in a terminal
