Unable to detect bluetooth phone using gnome tools
https://launchpad.net/bugs/65938
bluez-passkey-gnome was installed, I have to click on the small bubble
to make the window appear, which is not straightforward imo.
Thank you for the 'Bluetooth File Sharing', but still I expect the
bluetooth to just work, when I enable the bluetooth it have to work both
way.
Now the new problem
@Ali,
Please install package bluez-passkey-gnome and restart your session.
By the way, there should be a menu entry in Accessories menu called
'Bluetooth File Sharing' which starts gnome-obex-server. You will need
to start this server if you want to send files from phone to PC/laptop

Unable
Seems to be working better now, I am able to see my laptop from my
phone, but I still have to run gnome-obex-server by hand to be able to
send files from my phone to the laptop.
It also seems like the pairing is not working, I think gnome is supposed
to show me a window requiring me to enter a PIN
@Ali
The other part is already fixed for gnome.
Please update to latest version of bluez-utils

That fixes the detection of my phone by the laptop, and I am able to
send files from my laptop to the phone. Now the other way is still
missing :/ my phone is unable to discover the laptop. Any suggestions.
Thank you for your help.

If your local Bluetooth adapter supports inquiry with RSSI, then the
current gnome-bluetooth version is not capable of handling these inquiry
results. As a workaround you can call "hciconfig hci0 inqmode 0".
