I have to join in here... I have a 5.1 surround system and need to have different volume levels for Front, Surround and Center. There seems to be no way of configuring this with KMix. Setting the different volumes with alsamixer works but as soon as you change the volume with KMix all settings a

Thank you, with this workaround you get the old behaviour. But if the new behaviour is intended by design, than there is still the bug with the main channel affecting the volumes of other channels. I could live with setting up the speaker volumes once and than just use the master channel for vol

I had the same problem before on Lucid, when I tried the updates from the kubuntu-ppa repositories, which gave the 4.7 version of qt. I tried this repeatedly and always rolled back because of this problem. Now with Maverick there's nowhere to roll back to, but luckily there just might be a solutio
