I am not sure, but AFAICS the fix in openvpn doesn't help, since
network-manager-openvpn ignores the script /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-
conf in favor of its own helper to receive the domain names.

bug #714358 has been marked of this one. The patch in this bug report
correctly prepends 'search' between entries. So the delta in
2.1.3-2ubuntu3, superseeds that of 2.1.3-2ubuntu2.
