It works almost perfectly on Lucid with evince 2.30.3-0ubuntu1.3 and

Thanks for the quick response madbiologist, I think this is more of a
paper cut than a serious bug but as I use pdf a lot I tend to see it
alot. One thing I noticed is that the pdf I sent has an open office
generated gradient in other pdf's I have which contain png images with
gradients you get a
poppler issue.

Confirmed on Ubuntu 10.10 32bit with evince 2.32.0-0ubuntu1 and poppler
0.14.3-0ubuntu1.1. This happens with both the default libpixman-1-0
0.18.4-1 and the libpixman-1-0 0.19.7+git20101025.1c23142e-
0ubuntu0sarvatt from the xorg-edgers PPA.

hi sorry I have been working on a website build. I have attached a test
page of the pdf as it is actually part of an e-book I am making for my
partner

This is a screenshot showing the problem you can see a yellow bar at the
top of the text box and a blue bar at the bottom and white between where
there should be a gradient between the two colours.
